ADAH Civil War Service Database Records verify that Edward enlisted in Company G, 15th Alabama Infantry Regiment, CSA, on August 15, 1862..He reportedly died of disease on October 20, 1862 at MT. Jackson, Shenandoah County Virginia. His father Edward Riley Sr. filed a claim for relief at Echo, Dale County Alabama on 16 September 1863 which was verified on 2 June 1864.
